There is a new Futurewords collection (number 3) out, and I am in it.
This time around, I wrote a fun story called The Haul, two people that don’t know each other get put on a high stakes mission to recover cargo from a derelict spaceship. Add high stakes, competitors and certain death, and hilarity ensues.
Just kidding, it’s not really a comedy. It ran a bit long for the Futurewords, but I was a bit under the gun to turn something in and that’s what I had :).
It’s definitely it’s own universe, it was a blast to write in, and I would be lying if I didn’t say there was a flavor of Bruce Davis’ ‘Gangsters in Space’ Profit Logbooks series influence.
I would love to say it’s the start of a series- but I am eyeball deep in the second Twelve Tomes book, there’s a Tavara Tinker story arc I kinda need to close, and I already promised myself to revisit some other works you’ll hear about soon.
So, if you get a chance- grab a copy of Futurewords III, and drop me a note (in the Brick Cave Forums) what you think.
